Join us for a virtual conversation focused on supporting students with learning differences as they navigate the college search and application process. This session will explore the evolving role of learning specialists—from self-advocacy coaching to collaboration with families, college counselors, and colleges—and highlight effective practices that help students navigate this often-stressful time in their lives with greater confidence. We will also discuss how teams can work together to help students understand their learning profiles, advocate for their needs, identify colleges that are the right fit, and prepare for the academic and social transitions to higher education. In addition to learning specialists, we welcome secondary school college counselors and college accessibility professionals to join the discussion!
This event will be facilitated by Bethany Booth, NEALS' Treasurer and Director of the Academic Resource Center at Kent School, and Melissa Rubin, NEALS' Secretary and Principal at The Student First.
